Flower Power

Just a couple more long days and late nights of performances before spring break! I don't automatically have vacation time like the student population, but it is certainly going to be much quieter, and I'll have lots of opportunities to relax as a result. It's comforting that the days of my evening work attire - and the pressure to impress - are numbered! Even if temporarily...

Peach cardigan - The Limited / Printed top - The Limited / Tweed pencil skirt - Lane Bryant / Handbag - Tano "Minilisa" in Blue Marine / Grey faux-suede pumps - Apt. 9 (Kohl's)

I kept coming back to the idea of pattern mixing with this tweed pencil skirt, which I did so delightfully in this outfit. (Seriously, so much of me just has wanted to re-wear that outfit in its entirety!) Instead, I chose a similarly colored patterned top and an equally vibrant cardigan to get the same silhouette and overall feel. And given that spring isn't quite yet here (almost! almost!), the wintry tweed balances out the springy (even summery) peach cardigan in the same way it did the bright teal one in the original.

With all the peachy tones, including my somewhat bulky bib necklace (a really tricky piece to wear), I added some pops of contrasting color with my turquoise ring and my blue Tano.

Necklace  LOFT / Ring - The Limited / Earrings - The Limited

Bottom line? I'm all too antsy to break out my spring attire!

  1. This is my favorite color combination. I adore it and you totally rock it! Your skin-tone is awesome with the peach and the skirt and shoes look like they were made for each other. This is perfect for the coming of spring.

  2. Ooo I'm not usually a fan of peach, but I do love this combo, especially the floral print with the pretty grey tweed :)

  3. I love this outfit! I have the same necklace, and I sometimes think it has one too many strands of beads, like it would sit better if the middle strand was gone (or the top, i suppose). It's nice to see someone else wearing it!

  4. gah! i LOVE this color palette--i'm a sucker for salmony/coral stuff, and that turquoise ring in the last picture literally took my breath away up next to your necklace and cardigan. soooo beautiful and fresh! adore.

  5. You look fantastic! That peach is such a great color on you.

I re-wear outfits a lot. I don't photograph them for the blog or anything but when I find one that I like and that makes me feel good, what's the point in not wearing it again? It seems sad not to!

  6. You look amazing. I love the floral with the tweed and you look stunning in peach.

That's one thing about blogging that I'm not sure I love - there seems to be an unwritten rule (or maybe it's written in some Blogger Bible somewhere) that you can't wear the exact same outfit more than once. I haven't hit the point where I've wanted to yet, but I'd like to have the option.
